Run and See Georgia Grand Prix Race Series
The Run and See Georgia Grand Prix Series is a series of Georgia running events that take place throughout the year. Runners can travel to unique and different locations throughout the state and experience fun and different running events, while seeing new places and sights. Runners earn points for participating in the Run and See Georgia Grand Prix Races and placing in the top 20 of their age group for each race. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the series with over 400 races participating, making it the largest race series of its kind in the country. Runners can subscribe to the Georgia Runner online Magazine to track their point standings each month. A year end awards ceremony is held to recognize the top 20 point earners in each age group. Georgia Runner Magazine
Georgia Runner online Magazine is the most complete source of information on running events for the state of Georgia. Not only does it list all Run and See Georgia Grand Prix Series races, but all running events. It also provides links to the individual race information, links to their web sites for downloading race flyers, and links to online registration. We also offer some great articles, training tips and special interest stories on the Run and See Georgia Grand Prix Series runners. In addition if you participate in the grand prix races, you can check your points in real time.
The Georgia Runner Magazine has considerably more information on running than just calendars. The Race Development Process
Pacesetter’s PR will provide the most complete production and management services for the event you wish to conduct.
The Pacesetter’s PR Process will take care of all of your race needs, including:
Marketing and Planning
- Come up with creative ways to attract participants, thus increasing the overall success of the event
- Compose and layout the information for a race brochure
- Work with a design team to produce the intended final product
- Determine a pre-race publicity campaign that meets your budget and will achieve the event’s participation goals, and act upon it.
- Place the appropriate magazine advertising in running publications and other sources
- Actively distribute the race brochures to potential participants. Race flyers will be distributed to the local running stores, health clubs that will accept them, and at a number of races which Pacesetter’s PR is producing or able to attend
- Furnish mailing list of potential runners to the race for flier distribution
- Work with the local media to solicit exposure for the race
Course Design and Layout
- Advise the race organizers what may be the limitations of the possible courses or locations they wish to stage the event
- Determine a course for the event that will provide for a safe and fun event
- Obtain the approval of the necessary authorities and parties to use the course
- Obtain any required permits, etc. to conduct the event
- Determine the requirements for traffic control and make the necessary arrangements with the local municipalities
- Accurately measure the course and provide a detailed map of the route
- Determine where volunteers will be needed on the course and supervise their placement top insure the correct course is run
- Determine if there will be any special requirements for crowd control, and create a plan to handle
- Make sure that the necessary refreshments are in place on the course as well as the finish area
- Supervise the set-up and takedown of all aspects of the racecourse
- Coordinate with the D.J. to make all necessary announcements during the race
- Finish Line Timing and Results
- Determine what method of scoring is appropriate for the event
- Make sure all of the necessary equipment and supplies are available to complete the scoring of the event
- Supervise the volunteers responsible for scoring of the race to insure that they accurately record the results
- Provide computerized race results of all finishers
- Supervise the awards ceremony to insure that it is done correctly and smoothly
- Order all of the awards
Post Race Festivities
- Set-up area for post race festivities
- Work with race organizers or vendors to arrange the post race area efficiently
- Make recommendations as to ways to make the post race festivities a positive aspect of the event
Miscellaneous
- Provide assistance to the client regarding how to solicit sponsors, both cash and in kind sponsors; as well as input on the composition of a sponsorship packet.
- Coordinate the design, selection, and ordering of the commemorative t-shirt for the event for the runners and volunteers
- Determine how many volunteers will be needed for the event and help to recruit them for the event
- Determine what level of on-site medical coverage will be needed at the event and make arrangements to have them available
- Make recommendations regarding the necessary event insurance coverage required and provide possible sources for said coverage
- Determine all of the equipment needed for the event including, but not limited to, cones, barricades, signage, vehicles, tables, chairs, food, ice, tents, sound systems, etc. Arrange for all of the equipment to be on site for the event, as well as, negotiating the best price for the equipment
- Determine if any portable communications equipment will be necessary at the event, and arranging for it to be on hand
- Determine if any special transportation arrangements need to be made for the participants, and arrange for this service
- Determine the appropriate method to handle the race entry fees. Pacesetter’s PR will, if requested to, open an account specific to the event to handle entry fees and provide proper documentation regarding all transactions
- Provide the client with thorough details regarding the success of the event and detailed expense vouchers for all reimbursable expenses
- Make recommendations regarding the future course of the event
- Determine if any special transportation arrangements need to be made for the participants, and arrange for this service
